Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) is a suite of international open standards for the transmission of digital television and radio over terrestrial, satellite, and cable networks. DVB is used by many broadcasters and service providers around the world, and is supported by a wide range of devices, including television sets, set-top boxes, and personal computers. DVB standards cover the transmission of audio, video, and other data, and include specifications for modulation, multiplexing, and error correction. DVB standards are developed by the DVB Project, an international consortium of broadcasters, network operators, manufacturers, and research institutes.
