ePub (Electronic Publishing)

ePub is a file format for electronic books (eBooks) and other digital publications. It was developed by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF), and is based on the open standard for XML. ePub files are designed to be flexible and adaptable, and can be used on a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, and e-readers. The ePub format allows publishers to create digital books that retain the layout, fonts, and formatting of the original print version, while also adding interactive elements, such as links, audio and video clips, and animations. ePub files can be opened and read using a variety of free and commercial software, including popular eBook readers like the Amazon Kindle and the Apple Books app.
